Private alternative to Todoist image capture
Todoist Scan file reads tasks already written in an image. ActionShot infers actions, dates and people from any screenshot — private by design, never trains on your data.
| What matters | Todoist capture | ActionShot |
|---|---|---|
| Chats without written tasks | “No tasks found” message | Inferred as dated actions |
| Screenshot privacy | Saved into your task account | Private to you, never trains, deleted on delete |
| Dates and people | Extracted when written in the image | Detected per action |
| Full task system | Yes, native projects and reminders | Via export to Notion and your apps |
| Price | Part of Todoist plans | Upload free · Pro $4.99/mo |
If your screenshots are already to-do lists, Todoist capture is the shortest path. If they are chats, emails and threads you need actions from, upload one and compare — privately.
Todoist image capture does one thing: scan a file from Quick Add and pull out tasks that are already written in it — a to-do photo, meeting notes, an agenda. When the image holds a chat without explicit deliverables, its own docs say you get a “no tasks found” message.
ActionShot starts from the opposite assumption: screenshots are messy human conversations, not documents. A vision model reads who asked what, by when and for whom — and your screenshots stay private to you, never train models, and are deleted when you delete them.

Questions
Do you train AI models on my screenshots?
No. Screenshots are private to your account, never used to train models, and deleting an analysis deletes its screenshot with it.
What happens with a chat that lists no explicit tasks?
That is the core difference: Todoist reports no tasks found, while ActionShot infers the requests, resolves dates like “Friday” and attaches people and priorities — ready for your review before export.
Can I still use Todoist or Notion afterwards?
Yes. Export as text, Markdown or CSV, or send the checklist to Notion as to-do blocks in one click, then paste or file it wherever your system lives.
